DAMAULI: Broken electric poles with power cables hanging overhead have posed a grave risk to locals in Shantinagar of Byas municipality-10, Tanahun.

According to Chairperson of Shantinagar Tole Development Committee Deepa Shrestha, the Nepal Electricity Authority has ignored their calls to fix the power cables.

“We’ve informed them about the problem in writing time and again but no to no avail,” she said.

There are 300 households in Shantinagar.

Meanwhile, Nepal Electricity Authority Tanahun said preparations were under way to replace the broken poles.
