Public discontent rising over government conduct: Deuba

POKHARA: Main opposition Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba accused the Oli-led government of selling false promises to general people and hurting sentiments of Nepalese citizens.

Addressing the 9th District Convention of Press Union, Kaski, leader Deuba said that the government has failed in almost all areas and is unable to protect democracy while warning of a situation that calls for people to fight for their rights.

“The incumbent government is going against the laws and people are deprived of a sense of peace and security,” NC President said, “The country is plagued by corruption, rising prices and taxes while we lag behind in development let alone prosperity.”

“The government has not worked for the welfare of the public,” added Deuwa.

On a different note, Deuba hailed the media for its relentless effort in advocating for democracy and reiterated NC’s commitment to stand for press freedom.
