Public holiday
KATHMANDU: The government has decided to discontinue with the public holiday on “Democracy Day” slated for Baisakh 11, the day on which then king Gyanendra Shah decided to reinstate dissolved parliament responding to the successful people’s movement in 2006. Instead there will be a public holiday on Ashoj 3, the day on which Constitution of Nepal was promulgated, said Yadav Prasad Koirala, spokesperson for Ministry of Home Affairs.
