Quake victims get second tranche of grant

As many as 2,401 earthquake victims, who had received Rs 50,000 in the first instalment last year, received the second instalment of housing grant in Khotang. The second instalment amounts to Rs 150,000.

National Reconstruction Implementation Unit District Project Implementation Chief Sagar Acharya said as many as 8,173 victims had received the first instalment last year. “Of them, as many as 2,401 victims had received the second instalment amount,” he said.

According to National Reconstruction Authority, the distribution of second instalment amount had started from May 14 and most quake victims of Haleshi Tuwachung Municipality had already received the second instalment amount till date.

As many as 800 quake victims of Haleshi Tuwachung, 416 of Diktel Rupakot Majhuwagadi Municipality, 46 of Aiselukharka Rural Municipality, 147 of Rawabesi Rural Municipality, 153 of Jantedhunga Rural Municipality, 192 of Khotehang Rural Municipality, 91 of Kepilasgadi Rural Municipality, 291 of Diprung Chuchumma Rural Municipality, 173 of Baraha Pokhari Rural Municipality and 92 of Sakela Rural Municipality have received the government grant.

The beneficiaries were elated after they received the second instalment for reconstruction of their settlements.
