RAHS doctors resign demanding vice-chancellor’s resignation
Dang, August 25
Doctors working at Rapti Academy of Health Sciences have resigned en masse.
An-all party committee formed after their collective resignation has demanded the resignation of RAHS Vice-chancellor Dr Sangita Bhandari.
Save Rapti Academy of Health Sciences Campaign today submitted a memorandum to the academy’s Registrar Ram Prasad Pyakurel and warned of stern protest if Bhandari did not put in her papers within 24 hours.
Committee Coordinator Bikiran Gautam said the committee had concluded that Bhandari was behind the irregularities and flourishing corruption at the academy and sought her resignation.
The memorandum has accused Vice-chancellor Bhandari of doing away with the free parturition service and other free services guaranteed by the state and existing laws.
Earlier, as many as 25 doctors had put in their papers last Thursday saying Vice-chancellor Bhandari had meted out mental torture to them. The health academy said it had accepted the group’s resignation.
The resignation has adversely affected delivery of health service at the academy.
