Railway survey to take six months

Survey for extension of the Nepal Railway into broad gauge will be completed within six months, official concerned has said. “It will take four months to conduct the survey for the proposed 70-km Jayanagar-Bardibas section of broad gauge railway and another two months to prepare a report,” said BM Gupta, the general manager of the Indian Rights Company. “The report will be handed over to the Indian government,” he said. “Survey work for one kilometre of railway track costs some IRs 90,000.” — HNS
