KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 6
Vehicular movement along at least 18 road sections across the country has been obstructed due to landslides and flooding triggered by continuous rainfall, according to Nepal Police Headquarters.
In Sankhuwasabha, the Koshi Highway has been blocked at Bhotkhola Rural Municipality-4 and Makalu Rural Municipality-3, while the Siddhicharan Highway is fully obstructed at Manebhanjyang in Okhaldhunga and at Daldale in Katari Municipality-14, Udayapur.
Similarly, the Mid-Hill Highway has been blocked at Dhikure in Pakhribas-5 and the Koshi Highway at Sagurigadhi Rural Municipality in Dhankuta. The Mechi Highway has also been obstructed at several locations in Ilam Municipality-9.
Traffic movement remains halted along the Nepal–China Friendship Bridge in Gosaikunda-2, Rasuwa, and at four other points including Syaphrubesi. The Araniko Highway has been blocked at Charkilo in Bhotekoshi-4, Sindhupalchok, and the BP Highway at Mamtikhola in Roshi-11, Kavre.
According to police, several road sections in Makawanpur, including the Kanti Highway and the Kulekhani–Dakshinkali route, have also been affected. Landslides have further obstructed the Mid-Hill Highway at Phikkal-6 and the BP Highway at Sunkoshi-1 in Sindhuli district.
Authorities said clearing operations are underway with the mobilization of police and local disaster response teams.
