Rainfall for second day

KATHMANDU: The Valley denizens received rainfall for the second consecutive day on Monday, thanks to the active westerly wind. "It rained across the country from early in the morning. It is a premonition of the beginning of the monsoon season," informed an official at Weather Forecasting Division (WFD).

According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Kathmandu gauged a rainfall of 17.1 mm in the last 24 hours. It has also forecast an overnight thundershower across the country. Lack of rainfall for the past few weeks had delayed crop cultivation in many parts of the country. Today's maximum and the minimum temperature in the capital were recorded at 26.2 and 14.7 degrees Celsius, respectively.
