Rains inundate Hetauda

Heavy rainfall inundated Province 3 temporary headquarters Hetauda today.

Flood in Karrakhola triggered by rain since last night gushed into the human settlement and submerged dozens of houses at Shantinagar of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City and Gardoi. Personnel from Nepali Army and Nepal Police rescued nine families trapped in the flood and evacuated them to safer places, said Spokesperson at Makawanpur District Police Office, Deputy Superintendent of Police Yagya Prasad Bhattarai.

The rain has caused flood in Makawanpur’s Bagmati, Rapti, Karra, Bakaiya, Simat and Manahari rivers.

Locals felt relived after the rain ebbed in the inundated areas. Locals, however, have not been able to go home as rain is expected to continue, said Mayor Hari Bahadur Mahat of the Hetauda Sub-metropolis.The swollen Karra khola has swept away an Indian truck.

Likewise, landslip at Furkechaur-Shreepur road section along Dharan-Chatara highway has disrupted the vehicular movement.
