KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 26
Senior leader of the Loktantrik Samajwadi Party (LSP) Nepal, Rajendra Mahato, one of the senior figures in Madhes-based politics, quit the party by organizing a news conference here on Monday.
He announced a new campaign called 'Rastriya Mukti Kranti' upon leaving the LSP Nepal. Mahato, who has served in ministerial portfolios several times, had been dissatisfied with the leadership of LSP Nepal for some months.
During the occasion, Mahato informed the media that he would continue his political journey by waging campaigns and struggles despite resigning from the LSP Nepal.
Regarding the reasons for his resignation from the party, he argued that the LSP Nepal had not been able to work to end the deadlock in the party as per the aspirations and expectations. "The party could not work for Madhes and the citizens of the country. So, I started a new revolution by quitting the party (LSP Nepal)," according to Mahato.
