Rakesh claims first for SLC
BIRATNAGAR: Rakesh Giri of Bal Kalyan Vidhya Mandir (BKVM) in Biratnagar has claimed to have scored the highest in this year’s SLC examination.
Bearing a symbol number 0091391, Rakesh scored 745 out of the total 800 marks, which is 93.12 per cent. He obtained 97 in English, 91 in Social Studies, 99 in Optional Mathematic, 99 in computer, 97 in Science, 91 in Compulsory Mathematics, 90 in Health, Environment and Population and 83 in Nepali subjects. Calling the school-end national exam an open competition, Rakesh exclaimed that he had not expected to score this high.
Son of a government employee, Rakesh had been admitted to six schools by the time he completed the secondary education.
“My hard work has been paid for,” Rakesh shared, claiming, “I topped the SLC board as mine is the highest score to have been public so far.” Shaligram Dahal, principal, BKVM, supported the jubilant student’s claim. “ He was very attentive,” he said.
Rakesh lives in Pushpalal Chowk in Biratnagar. He has been to schools in Ilam,Panchthar, Dhankuta, Inaruwa and Biratnagar as and when his serving father was transferred.
