Rao arriving today
KATHMANDU: Indian Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao will be in Nepal on Monday for a two-day visit. She will hold consultations with political leaders and seniors officials. This is Rao’s first visit to Nepal after assuming office last month. Her predecessor Shivshankar Menon had visited Nepal in April. Rao is scheduled to meet Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal, Foreign Minister Sujata Koirala, her counterpart Gyan Chandra Acharya, other ministers, bureaucrats and top leaders of the political parties.
Rao will also pay a courtesy call on President Ram Baran Yadav. She is also expected to
visit the Pashupatinath Temple. According
to top officials at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, her visit has no specific agenda and it is
just a goodwill visit.
