Rape accused made public

Police today made two persons public for their involvement in the rape and murder of ten-year-old Manita Kumari Yadav of Aurahi Rural Municipality, Dhanusha.
At a press meet organised in District Police Office, Dhanusha, the accused rapists Binod Mukhiya, 32, and Nathuni Pandit, 30, of Aurahi were made public.
Police held them yesterday. The accused are said to be relatives of Manita. At a press meet, SP Govinda Thapaliya said the accused had lured the minor and raped her. Manita went to enjoy at the Durga Puja fair at around 9:00pm after having dinner on Friday. Her body was found the next day.
Police probe showed Mukhiya and Pandit had lured the girl with Rs 10 and noodles and raped her under the influence. SP Thapaliya said the minor died at the time of the rape. He said the rapists had buried her body in a paddy field.
The rapists confessed their crime at the press meet. The arrestees were sent to custody and a murder case was filed against them, said SP Thapaliya.
