DHANGADHI:A 10-year-old girl of Jugedi-11 Dhangadi Municipality, who was raped by her neighbour Ashok (20) about 2 months ago, is in a critical condition.

"The victim girl has been referred to India after she could not be treated in Seti Zonal Hospital," said Samir Khan, the doctor attending her.

Minakshi (name changed) had been to Ashok's house to watch a movie. When the lights went out, Ashok took her to a maize field and raped her after covering her mouth with a handkerchief.

According to a family source, she had returned home bleeding.

Locals have accused Constitution Assembly member Naradmuni Rana, a relative of the accused, of pressing them against disclosing the incident.

Firawa, the victim's father, said that a rape case has been dismissed by paying Rs 1 lakh.

However, CA member Rana refuted the allegation saying that he had just helped in the victim's treatment.
