Chitra Bahadur blames federalism for corruption

Bara, September 27

Rastriya Janamorcha Nepal Chairperson Chitra Bahadur KC has said that federal system in the country had institutionalised corruption.

Speaking at a mass meeting organised by his party’s provincial committee in Simara of Bara  today, the RJN chief said corruption was thriving in the country. “The system framed to prevent a commoner from rising to ruling positions has promoted corruption at all levels,” KC said. “We can see how a mayor spends millions of rupees to win an election. Now they are going all out to recover the amount spent. Similar is the case with the MPs and the ministers,” he added.

“In fact, federalism has proved to be a white elephant. The country won’t prosper and develop as long as we have a system adopted at the behest of foreign powers,” he observed.
