Raut’s acquittal upheld

KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Sunday upheld Special Court’s verdict to acquit CK Raut of sedition charges.

The Special Court had acquitted Raut of sedition charges on April 24. The government had moved the apex court on September 13 against the Special Court verdict.

Sunday’s verdict was delivered by a division bench of Justices Baidya Nath Upadhyay and Jagadish Prasad Sharma Paudel.

Raut is the chairperson of the Alliance for Independent Madhes.
