RAUTAHAT: A sub engineer at the Rautahat District Education Office has been arrested by the Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority while taking bribe from service seeker from Gaur of Rautahat district on Friday.

The team deployed from the CIAA's regional office in Hetaunda arrested Lalan Kumar Singh while taking Rs 35,000 bribe from a service seeker today.

Singh had demanded kickback from a principal of Shree Secondary School in Modopur village in Madhavnarayan Rural Municipality in the district for release of fund for the school building which was completed two years back.

CIAA team led by DSP Mahendra Khadka nabbed Singh from a tea shop after the school principal had filed complaint at the CIAA. However, cash was seized hidden inside a refrigerator at the shop, added Khadka.

Meanwhile, Singh has been kept at the CIAA regional office in Hetaunda for further investigation.
