RAUTAHAT: A government sub-engineer deployed in Banjaraha VDC of Rautahat district has been sent to jail after he was found embezzling social security allowance.

Sanjaya Kumar Singh was accused of forging signatures of 31 persons, who were already dead, to receive the allowance they deserved.

The District Police Office said he had embezzled the government fund from 2011/12 to 2015/16.

The District Court had asked Rs 900,000 bail from him during the hearing of the case filed by police via the District Attorney Office; but was sent to jail upon failure to post it.
