RAUTAHAT: A body of woman, who was reportedly raped a month ago, was found in a litchi garden of Mudbalawa VDC, Rautahat on Wednesday.

According to the preliminary report of the District Police Office Rautahat, the victim, assumed to be in her mid 20s, was first raped and then abandoned in the field after being strangled to death.

Police said they also found a wallet near the body. However, identity of the woman is yet to be ascertained.

The police also added that the body is being kept at the District Hospital, Gaur for autopsy.

DSP Rajedra Pokharel informed that the search for the absconding murderers has already begun.
