Rautes displaced, thanks to acute food shortage

ACCHAM: People of the Raute community, who have been living in Kaledanda of Accham District, have been displaced. The entire community was compelled to leave the area a week ago after they ran short of food.

Raute Hari Bahadur Shahi said, “We left the place as we couldn't manage food for our living,” adding, “Shortage of food made our survival difficult.”

Local of Kaledanda Sushma Saud said, “They left the place as they couldn't get wood in the forest from which they used to prepare wooden utensils and exchange food with the villagers.” Now they are living in temporary shelters at Ramghat area of Dailekh district. Hari Bahdaur informed that they were still facing acute shortage of food.
