Regional security meeting begins in Sunsari

ITAHARI: A regional security meeting has begun at Itahari-based Baraha Brigade, Pakali, today in presence of Minister for Home Affairs, Shakti Bahadur Basnet.

Extensive discussion regarding overall security situation as well as that of eastern Nepal, and security measures to be adopted in future would be held in the meeting, it is learnt.

Secretary at the Home Ministry Narayan Gopal Malegu, Inspector General of Police Upendra Kanta Aryal, Armed Police Force Inspector General Koshraj Onta, and Chief at the National Investigation Department Dilip Regmi are participating in the meeting.

Similarly, Regional Administrator Rajendra Nepal, Major General at the Nepal army Eastern Regional Headquarters Hari Bahadur Basnet, Eastern Regional Police Chief DIG Madhav Raj Joshi, chief district officers of Tarai and hilly districts of eastern Nepal, district chiefs of Nepal Police, Nepal army and APF and officers at National Investigation Department are also present in the meeting.

District-level reports regarding different issues including impact of the unannounced border blockade and inconvenience caused as a result of the Madhes agitation would be presented in the meeting.
