It has been learnt that the ruling party leaders in Bihar have agreed to send 1 million men to support the agitation of Madhes-based parties. Madhesi leaders had gone to Mujaffarpur seeking support of Indian leaders after their agitation in the plains lost momentum.
Raghubansha Prasad Singh, vice-chairperson of Rastriya Janata Dal, the ruling party of Bihar, confirmed the reports. He said they were ready to support the UDMF agitation.
Accusing the ‘rulers’ in Kathmandu of discriminating against the Madhesis, Singh said, “People of Bihar are ready to hold a sit-in in Kathmandu or New Delhi for the Madhesi people,” Singh said at a programme organised by Media for Border Harmony in Mujaffarpur yesterday.
Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal Chairperson Upendra Yadav, Sadbhawana Party Chairman Rajendra Mahato, Tarai Madhes Sadbhawana Party Chairperson Mahendra Yadav and lawmaker from Tarai Madhes Democratic Party Jangilal Yadav had also attended the programme.
Since the start of the agitation in the plains, two such programmes have been held under the Indian leader Singh’s chairmanship in Patna.
