Bajura, February 24
Relief materials have been distributed to to earthquake-affected and impoverished families in Bajura. A total of 157 families from Jagannath Rural Municipality, Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality, and Budhinanda Municipality have received essential supplies.
Bajura, frequently hit by earthquakes, has seen hundreds of families living in vulnerable conditions.
The relief distribution was coordinated by Nepal Rising and the Badimalika Foundation Nepal. Jagannath Rural Municipality Chairperson Kalibahadur Shahi stated that the initiative aimed to support families affected by earthquakes and those living in poverty.

Speaking at the relief distribution event, Chairperson Shahi thanked Badimalika Foundation Nepal for coordinating with Nepal Rising to assist earthquake victims. He acknowledged the foundation's past contributions and expressed hope for continued support in the future. He also assured that the municipality would always provide assistance within its capacity.
The relief program, organized by Jagannath Rural Municipality, provided food items, blankets, tarpaulins, and other essential materials including rice, lentils, salt, oil, soap to the affected families. Prakash Singh, Chairperson of Badimalika Foundation Nepal, highlighted that the distribution targeted earthquake victims and impoverished households.
Khadka Kadar, an elderly resident of Swamikartik Khapar Rural Municipality-1, expressed his happiness, mentioning that he had not received such assistance before. Kadar, who is also physically disabled, lamented that the government had neglected underprivileged families like his.
On Poush 6, 2081 B.S, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Jagannath Rural Municipality-5, with its epicenter near Gotri. The earthquake caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure, particularly in Jagannath.
Badimalika Foundation Nepal and Nepal Rising have been actively working with various organizations to provide aid in Bajura, a region frequently affected by floods, landslides, and food shortages, further worsening the living conditions of vulnerable families.
