Relief for family of deceased girl

The government has decided to provide Rs 40,000 to the family of a girl killed in the collapse of a house in Kavre.

A meeting of Kavre District Disaster Rescue and Relief Committee held yesterday took the decision to provide the amount to the family of Kanta BK, 7, of Dhuseni Shivalaya VDC-6, who was killed in the disaster.

The committee also decided to provide free treatment to Sabita BK, 10, the elder sister of the deceased, said LDO Ramkrishna Upreti.

Upreti said that ten families out of eleven were to be provided Rs 5,000 each to move them to a safer place.

The Nepal Red Cross Society of Kavre will provide food

and other logistics to the families affected by the disaster. Red Cross members and a team led by the VDC Secretary will start relocating those families that are living in danger.

Following the deadly quake of April last year, as many as 372 families of seven VDCs were found to be at high risk.
