Sixty people were killed and 27 were missing in landslides and floods triggered by rainfall across the country in the last 24 hours.

According to Humkala Pandey, joint secretary at Disaster Management Division, Ministry of Home Affairs, floods and landslides have claimed 13 lives in Ilam, 16 in Panchthar, 12 in Doti, seven in Dhankuta, six in Humla, four in Baitadi, and two in Dadeldhura.

In Doti, four members of a family were killed at Sayagada in Jorayal Rural Municipality. Sher Bahadur BK, his son Mohan BK, daughter Pabitra BK, and their guest Rabin BK were killed when BK's house was buried in a landslide; Jogi Sarki and his wife Jhupari Sarki, were buried to death after a mudslide buried their house at Nawalpur of Jorayal last night; Bir Bahadur Kunjeda's sons, Sagar and Aasish, died after their house caved in at Ward 6 of Sayal Rural Municipality; Hiruwa BK of Sayal Rural Municipality was also buried to death in a landslide and Bire Rokaya was swept away by the swollen Chhatreswor Khola.

In Baitadi, Mandhara Balayar was crushed to death when a stone fell on her at Ward 16 of Sikhar Municipality.

In Dadeldhura, two persons lost their lives in floods and landslides - Bishnu Awasthi was buried to death in a landslide at Ganyapadhura Rural Municipality, whereas Narmada Devi Shahi was swept away by a swollen river.

In Dhankuta, seven people were killed in a landslide triggered by incessant rainfall at Chaubishe Rural Municipality.

Bhim Bahadur Shrestha, his grandson Binod Shrestha, granddaughter Nirjala Shrestha, and their guests Sanjeev Shrestha, Laxmi Shrestha, and Dipsan Shrestha died on the spot after the landslide buried Bhim Bahadur's house. Six persons were injured in the incident.

Twenty-three people have gone missing after a landslide struck Thalara Rural Municipality in Bhajang, police said. Eighteen members of Gagane Sarki's family and five members of Nare Sarki's family have gone missing in the landslide.

Four persons - Khadak Bahadur Ghartimagar, Bikram Ghartimagar, Khadak Rana Magar, and Ganesh Aauji - are missing in Kailali's Lamkichuha Municipality.

As many as 27 houses were damaged in floods and landslides triggered by rainfall across the country.

Twenty-two people were injured across the country in incidents related to landslides and floods.
