OKHALDHUNGA, JUNE 13

Youths hailing from Rampur village of Molung Rural Municipality, currently living in Kathmandu, have brought relief and safety materials and distributed them in the village.

They had collected assistance amount of Rs 300,000 through social media campaigning.

Arjun Dahal of Rampur Youth Network informed that they had brought 100 sacks of rice, 103 packets of salt, 100 litres of oil, three sets of oxygen cylinders, 7,000 pieces of masks, 100 digital thermometers and some oximeters. The cylinders filled with oxygen werere handed over to Rampur Health Post.

Similarly, the rice, salt and oil were provided to poor families. Other safety materials were provided to 500 houses, including the Area Police Office, said another youth Bikram Dahal, adding that the assistance amount was provided by political leaders, cadres, social workers, teachers and youths living in Kathmandu.

A local from Molung Rural Municipality Ward 2, Indra Karki, expressed happiness over the distribution of relief and safety materials at a time when the entire country was battling with coronavirus. He thanked the youths for the social work.

So far, Okhaldhunga district has recorded a total of 1,087 cases of coronavirus infection and eight fatalities.
