Dinesh Pandit aka Sriniwasacharya sent to judicial custody

BIRATNAGAR: Self styled 'Sriniwasacharya' Dinesh Pandit, who staged gun attack on himself to incite religious conflict, has been sent to judicial custody on Wednesday.

A single bench of Morang Chief District Officer Ram Prasad Acharya made the decision to send 'Acharya' to judicial custody today.

After the administrative order, Pandit was sent to regional prison in Jhumka of Sunsari district. The order was executed under article 24 of the Arms and Ammunition Act 1962 of Nepal.

Earlier, the 'religious leader' had ordered his aides to pull trigger at him to ignite religious conflict with the motive of giving a push to the cause of reinstatement of Hindu nation.

Just when the administration was preparing to move Pandit to the regional prison in Jhumka, his health condition suddenly deteriorated and was, thus, admitted to Koshi Zonal Hospital in Biratnagar.
