KATHMANDU: Unified CPN-Maoist chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ today directed the party’s youth wing the Young Communist League (YCL) to counter those opposing the pro-people constitution and attacking its leaders and cadres.

Prachanda directed YCL to retaliate the opponents of new constitution during a training to the YCL central committee. He also directed them to control those who try to conspire against pro-people constitution within the stipulated time.

Prachanda and general secretary Ram Bahadur Thapa ‘Badal’ had trained the central committee members of YCL and interacted with them at the party headquarters in Paris Danda, Koteswor.

The meeting has devised a month long plan with a slogan ‘Youth Campaign for Peace, Constitution and National Independence.’

Constituent Assembly member Sagar said the YCL will begin a planned campaign to expose those who are against the pro-people constitution and struggle against those who oppose the national independence. Sagar also informed that YCL has devised separate plans for the Tarai, Hills and the urban regions.

Stating that party chairman Prachanda has directed YCL to begin campaign for new constitution, YCL chairman Ganeshman Pun ‘Rashmi’ said, “He directed us to go to the doorsteps of the people and win their hearts.”

Pun also said YCL will call meetings of its lower committees before going for the campaign. “Details of the campaign would be announced tomorrow organising a press conference,” he said.
