Charikot, August 5 :

The parliament snapped ties between the army and the King because the latter became active on the strength of the army, Minister for Local Development Rajendra Prasad Pandey said at a workshop on ‘Constituent Assembly and Restructuring of Local Bodies’ in Charikot today.

Noting that the then King Mahendra had seized state powers in 2017 BS through the army-backed coup, he said local bodies should be revived by including the representatives of the eight political parties, including the CPN (Maoist).
