Siraha, January 9:

Regular cases of looting, abduction and other criminal activities have displaced some 30 households in Harakatti VDC, forcing them to take refuse in neighbouring villages and bordering Indian towns.

Koshori Sah, Dinesh Sah, Sitauri Sah, Kamaleshwor Sah, Tapeshwor Sah, Bhubaneshwor Sah, Dinesh Yadav, Sunil Singh and Ram Dayal Singh of Harakatti-3 were among those forced to flee. The displaced are taking shelter in Golbazaar, Mirchaiya, Lahan, Sukhipur and Murkuchchhi.

According to a local, Tapeshwor Sah, the terror unfolded by Hari Govinda Yadav and other criminal gangs had forced the Sudi, Yadav and Danuwar families to go elsewhere.

Security situation was so poor that the people could not harvest their paddy, said displaced Dinesh Yadav.
