RJP-N seeks withdrawal of 'false' cases against its cadres
KATHMANDU: Two top leaders of the Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal (RJP-N) today called on Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba, drawing the government's attention towards what the party claimed ongoing arrests and physical assaults against the party cadres.
RJP-N Chair Mahantha Thakur and leader Anil Kumar Jha reached the Office of the Council of Ministers and Prime Minister to meet with the Prime Minister. During the meeting, they drew the attention of the Prime Minister towards attacks carried out against its leaders and cadres in Nawalparasi, Sunsari and Kapilvastu districts.
"The RJP-N leaders and cadres are becoming the targets of assaults in some districts, normal life in the Tarai has been terrorised and people are forced to stay indoors in the name of strengthening security and the party raised the same matters in the meeting with the Prime Minister, urging the government not to do so," leader Jha told the mediapersons after the meeting.
Claiming that some party cadres are facing cases under false charges, he urged the government to withdraw such cases immediately.
