Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal presidium members jointly inaugurated the regional party office in Chandrapur Municipality, Rautahat, today.
RJP-N presidium coordinator Mahendra Raya Yadav, members Mahantha Thakur, Rajendra Mahato and Anil Jha inaugurated the regional party office today.
Speaking at the programme, Coordinator Yadav said indigenous people, Muslims, Madhesis, women and other marginalised communities had become victims of the state’s discriminatory attitude. He said constitution amendment was necessary to ensure economic and linguistic equality to all. He clarified that his party had been fighting against oppression and domination. He urged the leaders and cadres of the party to be ready for a protest if the government did not amend the constitution soon.
Presidium member Mahato said the state had adopted discriminatory policy. Another presidium member Thakur said the government had bulldozed the medical education bill with the help of two-thirds majority in the Parliament.
“The government is on the path of dictatorship,” he said. “The government did not consult the opposition in this matter. Madhes is the lifeline of the country, but the federal government is ignoring Madhes and its issues,” he added.
