Ramechhap, January 25:
The RNAC Twin Otter ABT 131/132 landed at Manthali airport an hour after the
officials there announced that the Manthali-Kathmandu flight had been cancelled, this evening.
The plane was scheduled to land at Manthali airport at 4:10 pm and fifteen minutes after the scheduled time officials announced that the flight to Kathmandu had been cancelled due to a technical failure. But an hour later at 5:25 pm, when most of the passengers waiting to fly to Kathmandu and the airport staff had left the airport, plane suddenly landed at Manthali airport. Rishi Raj Ghimire, one of the Kathmandu-bound passenger, left the airport after confirming with Babu Kaji Dhakal, the RNAC counter in-charge that the flight had been cancelled but he was stunned when he saw a plane flying to the airport. He said he could not, however, make to the plane because it took off before he could reach the airport.
The tower in-charge, who had already reached his residence, had rushed to
the airport after he recieved a phone call from Kathmadu that the plane was
arriving at Manthali airport. Although 18 passengers were booked, only seven, who were staying in the hotels near the airport could board the plane, said RNAC counter in-charge.
