Road to Muktinath being blacktopped
PARBAT: The blacktopping of Kagbeni-Muktinath road section in Mustang, the district across the Himalaya, has begun.
The seven-kilometre road section linking Kagbeni to the historic place of Muktinath would be the first blacktopped road in the district.
The district-based Rural Reconstruction and Rehabilitation Project is assisting to upgrade the route. The blacktopping is expected to complete by the mid of 2017, said District Technical Office's Engineer Rabindra Tiwari.
The upgrading of the route is estimated to cost Rs 108 million.
Though the district has road sections stretching to 250 kilomtres, no section has been blacktopped so far.
Devotees coming to visit the famous Muktinath Temple here will be benefitted once the route is upgraded.
