Pokhara: King Gyanendra and Queen Komal on Wednesday offered puja at the Mahayagya being organised by the Sarangkot Religious Area Development Committee for the past five days. The royal couple reached the Mahayagya site at Sarangkot VDC-3 in a special helicopter at around 10:30 am on Wednesday. The two spent half-an-hour there and returned to Pokhara at 11 am. The Mahayagya is aimed at collecting funds for the construction of Shiv Temple at Sarangkot, which, in turn, is expected to help develop Sarangkot as a religious spot,Committee chairman, Lok Bahadur Thapa, said. The Mahayagya, from which Rs 1.3 million has been collected so far, will continue till February 26.
