Royal couple to go to Pokhara today

Pokhara, March 25:

King Gyanendra and Queen Komal are arriving in Pokhara tomorrow to receive the civic reception.

The security has been beefed up for the royal visit. Lashka Bahadur Gurung, the coordinator of the civic felicitation main organising committee said the royal couple was arriving in the city two days before the felicitation programme.

All the heads of security bodies including IGP Shaym Bahadur Thapa and Armed Police IG Sahabir Thapa have arrived in Pokhara. Along with them, minister Sarbendranath Shukla and other former ministers have also reached here.

Meanwhile, Nepal Deshbhakta Sangh today organised a motorcycle rally with traditional Panche Bajaa as a part of the preparation for the civic felicitation to the King and the Queen in Pokhara.

Similarly, Rastriya Ekata Parishad and Bheemkali Yuva Club also organised a motorcycle rally to publicise the felicitation programme.

"The preparation for the civic felicitation is in the last stage," said Laksha Bahadur Gurung, president of the Main Celebration Committee.

Advisor of the Civic Felicitation Committee, Kshetra Pratap Adhikary said, "The political parties should not veto their cadres from participating in the programme."
