RPP condemns former mayor’s arrest

Kathmandu, February 3:

The Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) today condemned the arrest of former zonal administrator of Narayani zone, Bimal Shrivastav, from his house in Birgunj yesterday.

The party has asked the government to immediately release Shrivastav and has warned the government that the party would be compelled to take strong steps if the government failed to release him immediately.

The RPP activists today held a rally in Birgunj to protest Srivastav’s arrest.

The rally, led by RPP district chairman Gokul Kurmi, began from Ranighat and converted into a corner meeting after reaching Ghantaghar. Kurmi, while addressing the gathering, condemned Srivastav’s arrest without any ground.

The local administration arrested former mayor Srivastav from his residence at Kumhal Tole last night.
