GHAIGHAT: Fire that started with an electric short-circuit destroyed properties worth around Rs 2.2 million at Belaka Municipality-1 of Udayapur on Sunday morning.

According to police, the fire started at 1:00 am Sunday morning and spread throughout the house belonging to Rabindra Bahadur Katuwal at Ambasi and gutted clothes, grains, furniture, utensils, and other properties housed inside.

The fire also gutted a Pulsar motorcycle (Ba 40 Pa 3941), informed Superintendent of Police (SP) Chandra Dev Rai at Udayapur District Police Office (DPO).

Police with the help of locals doused the fire after three hours of efforts, Udayapur DPO said.
