Over Rs 200,000 stolen from Pathibhara Temple

TAPLEJUNG: More than Rs 200,000 belonging to the Pathibhara Temple in the district has been stolen, the temple authority said.

The stolen amount was the collection of visitor's offerings and donation by the members of Pathibhara Devi Temple Area Protection and Conservation Committee, informed the Committee's Joint-Secretary Laxmi Prasad Kafle.

The burglars broke into the inner room of an old building of the Temple where the priest lived, broke the locker and decamped with the amount, he said, adding that the stolen amount was to be deposited into the bank account of the Committee.

Chief District Officer Nar Bahadur Khadka said the Committee and the Pathibhara Area Development Committee would be consulted on the incident.
