Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chair Rabi Lamichhane has begun high-level political meetings in New Delhi during his ongoing five-day visit to India.

Lamichhane, who is visiting India at the invitation of India's ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), was met with a grand welcome at the BJP headquarters with traditional cultural performances and garlands.

During the visit, Lamichhane held talks with BJP leader Nitin Navin and other party officials at the BJP headquarters.

According to the RSP, discussions focused on strengthening ties between democratic forces of the two countries, sharing party experiences, political cooperation and bilateral relations.

The BJP leaders also briefed the RSP delegation on the organisational structure and operations of the party office.

Lamichhane arrived in India on Sunday along with his wife Nikita Poudel, RSP Co-General Secretary and lawmaker Bipin Kumar Acharya, lawmaker Deepak Bohora and Pradeep Acharya.

As part of the visit, he is also scheduled to meet members of the Nepali community in India and visit Ayodhya.
