KATHMANDU, JUNE 23
The Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) is preparing to hold the closed session of its first general convention today after it was postponed on Monday due to technical reasons.
Party spokesperson Manish Jha said the delay was caused by the time required to verify delegates' names submitted by provincial committees and print identity cards. Distribution of identity cards to representatives began on Monday evening.
Jha said the party was committed to ensuring a dispute-free process, noting that the general convention is the party's supreme decision-making body.
According to General Secretary Kabindra Burlakoti, the closed session will deliberate on reports from the discipline commission, finance committee, party organisation and the political document.
The three-day convention began with an inaugural session at the Guest House grounds in Chitwan on Sunday, while the closed session is scheduled to take place at the Chitwan Chamber of Commerce and Industry's exhibition centre.
