Rupandehi schools effect 15 pc fee-hike
Rupandehi, April 20:
Private and boarding schools in Rupandehi have hiked fees from this new academic year.
President of Private and Boarding Schools Organisation of Nepal’s (PABSON) district chapter Yagya Murti Pandey said the hike was necessary, as the salaries of teachers had to be hiked by 27 per cent and to cover the increase in cost of teaching materials.
Guardians bemoaned that the school fees were hiked at a time when they were already reeling under skyrocketing prices of consumer items.
Ekraj Gairey of Butwal municipality-13 complained education was getting out of the reach of commoners.
Meanwhile, Maoist student wing, ANNISU-R, issued a release urging private and boarding schools not to hike school fees arbitrarily.
