Rupandehi woman murdered after robbery

BUTWAL: An expectant mother was killed by an unidentified group of people in Devdaha Municipality-2 of Rupandehi on Friday.

According to police, the woman identified as Namkala Pandey (24) of the municipality was killed at her own home. She was in the second month of her pregnancy.

Based on a preliminary investigation, police have assumed that Pandey was attacked during a robbery on Thursday, informed DSP Mukunda Marasini of the Butwal Area Police Office.

Pandey was rescued at 3:30 am the following morning while she was excessively bleeding. She breathed her last at the Crimson Hospital in Manigram yesterday during treatment, police added.

The unidentified group meanwhile robbed Pandey of around five tolas of gold jewellry she was wearing at that time.

She was sleeping alone in the room when the thieves barged into the house breaking the doors. It has been learned that the husband of the deceased is abroad in course of employment.

A special team deployed form the Regional Police Office in Pokhara have initiated an investigation into the case.
