SAARC FMs’ meet ends
New Delhi, September 15:
The two-day convention of Finance Ministers of the South Asian Association of Regional Cooperation (SAARC) that ended here today agreed to extend three projects related to the social sphere and also concurred on investing more in these projects.
The investment will come from the development fund that was set up after the 14th SAARC summit.
The SAARC FMs’ meeting concentrated on maternal safety, child health care, empowerment of women and the upgradation of education. The three projects are related to these issues. A press release issued after the meeting said a meeting of high-level officials would be held in Kathmandu to implement these projects.
