New Delhi, September 14:

Finance minister Dr Ram Sharan Mahat today arrived here to attend a two-day convention of Finance Ministers of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) nations scheduled to begin tomorrow.

In this connection, the finance secretary-level meeting of SAARC nations was held today.

Joint finance secretaries Krishna Gyawali and Bimal Wagle attended the meeting from the Nepali side as finance secretary Bidyadhar Mallik is in Australia on a tour.

Joint secretary Gyawali told this daily that today’s meeting focused on the modalities of the augmentation of the SAARC development fund, set up during the 14th SAARC summit to be used for economic, social and infrastructure development in region.
