Sadbhawana Party, RJP-N to ally with NC in Udaypur

The Rastriya Janata Party-Nepal and the Sadbhawana Party are all set to form electoral alliance with Nepali Congress for the forthcoming provincial and parliamentary elections, in Udayapur.

A meeting of the two Madhes-centric parties took a decision to this effect, today. “As the CPN-UML didn’t show interest in addressing concerns of the Madhesi community in the past, we decided to form electoral alliance with NC in the district,” said RJP-N Udayapur chairperson Khushilal Thakur.

The parties also said discussions were under way to participate other Madhes-centric forces in the alliance. “We are holding talks with leaders of other parties as well and we will a take concrete decision in this regard within a few days,” said Thakur.

SP Udayapur chairperson Daya Ram Chaudhary said they were holding talks to take other parties including Upendra Yadav-led Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal on board the alliance in the district.

Meanwhile, FSF-N has recommended the names of party candidates for the elections under the proportional representation electoral system from the district. Sushila Shrestha, Ful Maya Pariyar, Devi Maya Katuwal, Mohan Kumar Tamang and Keyar Singh Rai have been recommended under the PR electoral system for the parliamentary election while Thusung Ghising, Kumar Lagan, Janak Bista, Ghana Shyam Katuwal, Renu Kumar Bot, Tej Bahadur Danuwar, Badri Sada, Bam Bahadur Magar and Deepak Majhi have been recommended for the provincial election under the PR electoral system from the district, as per the party’s district chairperson Siddhanta Rai.
