Saptakoshi water level decreases, gives locals sigh of relief

ITAHARI: Water level in the Saptakoshi River has ebbed with less amount of rainfall experienced during past few days.

"The water level was measured at 191,210 cubic foot per second (cusec) at 4:00 pm today", said SP Bhim Thebe, a commander of the team mobilised for the security of the Saptakoshi Barrage.

Out of total 56 sluice gates, 28 gates have been opened with wavered flood in the barrage. The authorities had opened 35 to 36 floodgates before as the water level was high.
