Saptari banks to resume operation for 5 days

RAJBIRAJ: Banks of Sapatari district, which were closed for nearly two months due to the ongoing protests in the Tarai region, would resume services for five days.

The United Democratic Madhesi Front (UDMF) in the district decided not to obstruct banking services considering the upcoming festivals, informed a UDMF leader Amar Nath Mandal.

The banks would resume from Monday to Friday, according to Mandal.

Meanwhile, the Saptari District Administration Office (DAO) reinstated the decision to announce the East-West Highway section in the district a riot-hit zone.

The announcement would come into effect from 7 pm today until a further notice, according to the DAO.

Earlier on Saturday, the Office had lifted the decision to declare the road section riot-hit.
