Saptari land revenue office collects Rs 60 million

District Land Revenue Office Saptari collected more than Rs 60 million revenue from land registration in the fiscal 2015/16 alone in the district.

According to office Chief Surya Bahadur Thapa, the revenue was collected from 17,749 land registrations.

Of the lands, as many as 8,559 were registered in women’s names, 390 in the names of Dalit and ethnic nationalities, three in the names of specially-abled and 122 in senior citizens’ names. The office has collected Rs 16.6 lakh rupees on other headings during the period.

Land Revenue Office Kanchanpur branch registered the land of as many as 21 VDCs and municipalities of the district. The office has taken the responsibilities of collecting and distributing different tariffs and revenues, according to Thapa.

Phidim launches integrated tax system

Phidim Municipality has started executing an integrated taxation system from this fiscal in Panchthar.

The municipality used to collect real estate and land taxes separately, but started the integrated tax system after the third municipal council’s meeting. “Now we collect all kinds of taxes from the same bill,” said Executive Officer of the municipality Kaji Man Rai. The municipality has also formed a committee to fix integrated property tax from this fiscal.

Locals of the municipality can pay their minimum tax fixed by the meeting of all party political mechanism at the office, that also decided to waive 10 per cent tax to the service seekers who pay the tax of this fiscal during the first four months.
