Saptari man burned to death

RAJBIRAJ: A man in Jamuni Madhepura of Saptari district has been burned to death.

Police said the body of unidentified youth of Madhesi origin at his early 30s was recovered near the Ghordaha River in Jamuni Madhepura VDC-5 of Saptari district.

Locals had informed to the police about the body with burn injuries on his head, neck and back, after they spotted it this morning.

Preliminary police investigation shows that the youth, dressed in blue pyjama and red t-shirt was taken to a lonely place and burned to death by pouring kerosene over his body.

The incident site is 10 km west of the district headquarters Rajbiraj.

Police have only found two caps of jerry cans, but the containers were missing from the site. Police said the body condition suggested the incident happened last night.

Saptari District Police Office has sent the body for postmortem at the Gajendra Narayan Singh Sagarmatha Zonal Hospital.
